Why Do I Feel So Good After an Ice Bath?

It’s not unusual to feel amazing after an ice bath, and there are several physiological and psychological reasons behind that post-bath “high.” The feel-good effects mainly come down to how your body responds to cold exposure. 

Endorphin Rush 

One of the biggest reasons you feel great after an ice bath is the release of endorphins—your body’s natural “feel-good” hormones. When you immerse yourself in cold water, your body experiences a mild stress response, and to cope with that, it releases endorphins.
